La primera vez que escuché está canción quede impactada. Era muy chica, y no paré hasta averiguar el nombre del grupo que la tocaba. West End Girls fue le primer gran hit de Pet Shop Boys, todo era increíble: la canción, que habla del conflicto de clases en Londres (los del este y los del oeste); la música (adelantado a su época en décadas); y el video, dirigido por Andy Morahan y Eric Watson (una colección de imágenes que bien podrían ser fotos de Cartier Bresson, porque la composición es maravillosa).
El grupo acaba de recibir un merecido premio por su destacada contribución a la música (Outstanding Contribution to Music) en los Brit Awards, el que agradecieron en su muy particular –y gráfico– estilo. Fueron presentados por el vocalista de The Killers y tocaron fragmentos de varias canciones, cerrando justamente con este increíble tema. Outstanding!

Mi segunda mejor canción de PSB, la primera es Being Boring, pero tienes razón Paty, la primera vez que la escuché también era bien chica y me fascinó, de ahí he seguido al grupo hasta el día de hoy!!

Grandes canciones las de Pet Shop Boys en una hermosa epoca, en la que además sobraba la buena música: los 80.
